Homemade Bomb Cuts Power, Injures 2

A homemade bomb exploded early Sunday morning in a five-story residential building in southeast Moscow, shattering glass and injuring two, Moscow police said in a statement on their site.

The explosion occurred at about 4:30 a.m. after the explosive device was left on the windowsill of the first floor at 24 Ulitsa Sudakova.

Two people were injured in the blast, both citizens of Tajikistan. They were hospitalized with injuries from flying glass in the explosion.

The power of the blast, which broke about 20 windows and cut power to the building, was estimated to be equivalent to about 100 to 150 grams of TNT, reported.

There are currently no suspects or motives established in the case. Police have opened a criminal investigation for deliberate infliction of bodily harm, damaging property and illegal arms production.
