KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan President Hamid Karzai is traveling to Russia this week at the invitation of President Dmitry Medvedev, seeking to bolster relations with his nation’s former occupier, Afghanistan’s government said in a statement Monday.
The trip begins Thursday. The two leaders are expected to discuss economic issues and Moscow’s concern about the flow of drugs into Russia.
