Banker Shot in Moscow

The chairman of a small bank, Lesprombank, was shot dead in southwestern Moscow late Wednesday in an apparent contract hit, Interfax reported.

The killer, described by witnesses as a young man about 175 to 180 centimeters tall who covered most of his face with a hood, shot the banker, Mikhail Daudov, 66, twice at point-blank range, including once in the eye, before calmly walking away, news reports said.

Investigators are examining video from nearby surveillance cameras.

Police linked the killing to Daudov’s professional activities but did not name any suspects.
