Ukraine’s Gas Payments

Ukraine will pay Russia between $300 and $310 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas in the first quarter of 2010, Anatoliy Podmyshalskyi, chief executive officer of Gazprom’s Ukrainian unit said, Interfax reported.

Podmyshalskyi said Russia will pay Ukraine $2.8 to $3 for every 100 kilometers of Ukrainian territory through which it pumps 1,000 cubic meters of gas, Interfax reported. Russia meets a quarter of European demand and ships 80 percent of that amount via Ukraine.
