Isayev Threatens to Bury Lenin Over Anthem Bill

Andrei Isayev, first deputy chief of United Russia’s presidium, warned Communists on Thursday that he might initiate talks to bury Lenin in response to a Communist bill seeking to remove a reference to god from the national anthem.

The Communists said they were willing to accept the challenge if burying Lenin were put to a national referendum.

“Now, when the Communist Party is openly attacking a state symbol, I think we should reopen the public discussion we broke off about burying Lenin’s body,” Isayev said, Interfax reported.
