Russians appear to be losing their feelings of hostility and suspicion toward the United States, especially younger Russians, according to survey published Wednesday by state pollster VTsIOM.

Across all age groups, the number of those with negative views of the United States fell to 29 percent from 40 percent five years ago, the poll showed. Some 49 percent of Russians said they felt positive toward the United States, almost unchanged from 48 percent in the same period. (Bloomberg)

Initiial delivery of the S-300 missile batteries was expected to come as early as September, one source said, although it could take six to 12 months for the systems to be deployed and operable. (Reuters)
