Get a Few Bad Habits

MTBad Habits makes the most of its space with a two-level layout.
Bar Vrednykh Privychek, or the Bad Habits Bar, describes itself as not a bar for those leading a healthy lifestyle. It points out that it has lots of unhealthy options on the menu -- dishes such as the "unhealthy" cheese soup (120 rubles), a fatty, spicy cheese soup with Bavarian white sausage. Other unwholesome suggestions include the "Australian habit," an Australian striploin steak (595 rubles) and, naturally enough, various smoky treats such as hookahs and cigars.

The menu features plenty of dishes that other establishments would not be so brave as to describe as unhealthy. Besides the purportedly insalubrious Australian steak, the grill menu lists whole baked, honey-glazed New Zealand lamb (595 rubles), spicy lamb sausages (295 rubles), and pork sausages with truffle, mashed potato and red cabbage smothered in cream (295 rubles). A more healthy-sounding river trout stuffed with herbs and garlic (320 rubles) also sneaks onto the grill selection.

Other calorie-laden indulgences can be found on the hot starters and beer snacks section. Pork ribs with a spicy honey sauce go for 250 rubles, chili chicken wings cost 250 rubles. Two vegetarian snacks include a hot cheese plate with various fried cheeses (230 rubles) and champignons in a porcini cream sauce (110 rubles), which is not to be confused with the dish, "For Enemies of Vegetarians," which consists of cold roast beef marinated in spicy oil with marinated vegetables (190 rubles).

Of course, that other source of empty calories is not ignored -- the drink menu is well stocked. Cocktails start at 140 rubles and average around 200 rubles. The range of spirits is decent, starting at 70 rubles for a shot of Smirnov vodka, and draft beer starts at 140 rubles for a half-liter of Heineken.

The bar aims for a club-like atmosphere in the evenings, so come early or be prepared for some loud music.
