The city's oyster specials keep on coming. This time it's French restaurant Riviere (pictured), which is opening its winter oyster season with a month-long special running until Oct. 15. The restaurant is aiming to offer double its usual assortment of oysters, including white pearl, belon and fine de claire, among others. Besides offering them fresh, the restaurant is preparing baked oysters served with various sauces. As part of the festival, Riviere is offering special prices -- no oyster will cost more than 3 conditional units.

Tapas De Comida, the Spanish restaurant popular for its democratic tapas bar, has commenced its latest season of children's parties. Every Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., the restaurant is providing children's entertainment in the form of a magic carpet with toys, live entertainers, games, contests, paints and crayons. Naturally, a children's menu is also available.

As part of the Rozamira '07 carnival of modern art, elite restaurant Zolotoi is hosting a Brazilian Gourmet Week through Sept. 23, with Brazilian chef Meria do Carmo heading the kitchen. Do Carmo has held numerous prestigious positions, including head chef at popular Sao Paulo restaurant Para Raio, personal chef to Mohamed al-Fayed and head chef in the Luxembourg Embassy in London. Together with fellow Brazilian chef Leo Soto, she is to prepare classical Brazilian dishes using such tropical ingredients as crab, mango, palm leaves, banana and Brazilian black beans.

Veteran sushi chain Sushi Vyosla has updated its menu. The modified menu, 20 percent of which is new, has crab playing the main role. Some of the new dishes are Morgentau salad with smoked salmon and crab (290 rubles), battered crab on a bed of salad leaves with grapefruit and mango (340 rubles) and temaki rolls with crab (220 rubles). Sushi Vyosla has also introduced a special offer on the Japanese beer Kirin Ichiban. Through September, with every order of the sushi selections Ume (390 rubles), Take (610 rubles) or the Sushi Vyosla (650 rubles), diners receive a free 330-milliliter glass of Kirin. Ordering the Funomri (1,550 rubles) or Sakura (1,450 rubles) nets guests two glasses.
