Politics of Exclusivity

Courtesy of Mesto Pod SolntsemPolitica's pleasant outdoor area is a good reason to visit before it gets too cold.
Politica, as it describes itself, is a "restaurant for those who possess exclusive taste and a sense of style, for public figures and the not-so-public. It is for those who, by virtue of a variety of reasons, choose Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Shosse as their chosen location for living, relaxation or work." In other words, a place for "exclusive leisure for exceptional people."

If you have trouble counting yourself among the cream of society, then perhaps some time spent mingling among those worthier than thou just might rub off. And if you act quickly, before the autumn rains roll in, you could still find a spot on the breezy and easygoing terrace where your inferiority may just pass unnoticed.

Canadian chef Elliot Reynolds, having recently returned from the British Isles full of inspiration, has in conjunction with chef Dmitry Korolyov added a range of new dishes. The porcini mushroom soup with truffle foam dusted with cocoa (670 rubles) comes with three black truffle pieces balanced on top and would be an order worthy of any of the local inhabitants. For those with a more substantial appetite, the rack of lamb under a truffle crust with pomegranate sauce (1,240 rubles) comes with young seasoned vegetables and should demonstrate your serious credentials. For those who can't find something to their liking among the latest offerings, the regular menu lists a mix of Reynolds' deconstructed fusion and Korolyov's classical Italian -- just what the doctor ordered for the underestimated looking to move up in the world.
