Indian-fusion restaurant Indus has introduced a new series of dishes all based on mango. Running through to the end of July, the new menu includes such concoctions as a mango and avocado salad served with ruccola, pappadams and chili under a sesame and mango seasoning (550 rubles), a salad of fried mango with diced homemade cheese (550 rubles), and grilled salmon with fried mango and avocado served on a bed of rice noodles (990 rubles). Naturally, there are numerous mango-based desserts averaging around 550 rubles.

Chinese-Russian restaurant Vertinsky has also given its menu a shake-up with a new set of Asian dishes and a revamp of the dessert menu. Asian additions include Vietnamese mango salad with roast duck rolls (400 rubles), braised seafood soup with spinach and pine nuts (580 rubles) and pan-fried lamb chops under a hot pepper-honey sauce (1,100 rubles). New desserts include poppy-seed rolls with strawberries and vanilla sauce (350 rubles), lime and mint jelly served with vanilla ice cream (385 rubles) and mango with jasmine sorbet (175 rubles).

Arkady Novikov's first restaurant, Sirena, is celebrating its 15th birthday, no mean feat in a town where restaurants come and go with the change of seasons. Until June 26 -- the actual birthday -- a special "historical" dish is to be served each day from a particular year of the seafood restaurant's existence, counting up to the present. Today's special: the 1998 "Broken Heart" Scottish salmon.

Tinkoff microbrewery restaurant has introduced a summer special that would be ideal for picnics and countryside getaways. With the purchase of any two 5-liter takeout kegs of beer, customers receive a third keg free. Keg beer choices include dark and light, unfiltered and filtered, all selling for 999 rubles each.

Viaggio Venezia has opened its summer veranda (pictured). The democratic Italian restaurant, part of the Viaggio chain, has decked out its patio with wicker furniture and live flowers. Fabric stretched above the summer terrace lets in light while keeping it cool. A full regular menu is offered, including a weekday business lunch -- 275 rubles for a soup or salad plus a choice of hot main course -- from noon to 4 p.m.
