PwC Signs Deal on New Moscow Office

PricewaterhouseCoopers has signed a major pre-lease agreement for a new 32,500-square-meter office, the company said in a statement Thursday.

The announcement comes as PwC's Russian representative office waits to find out whether its operating license will be extended.

"It is considered to be the largest corporate lease signed in Moscow," the statement said.

PwC plans to move to the new location in the Class-A White Square office center near Belorusskaya metro station in late 2008.

The statement of commitment to Russia comes after a slew of recent legal problems for the international auditor. On March 20, the company was fined 16.8 million rubles ($645,200) over its auditing of Yukos from 2002 to 2004.

"The current situation does not prevent us from the planning for our future. We continue normal operations, working for our clients, which are successful Russian businesses," a company spokeswoman said in a statement.
