Eleven Years Ago: Members of the Great White Brotherhood sect seeking new converts outside Moscow's Sokolniki metro station. The apocalyptic sect said it was attracting new followers daily despite the imprisonment of its leader, Maria Devi Khristos -- formerly Maria Tsvigun of Donetsk, Ukraine -- who it claimed was the latest incarnation of Christ. The former journalist, Komsomol apparatchik and waitress had been sentenced to four years in prison in Ukraine after a violent debacle following a mass gathering in Kiev to witness a no-show apocalypse on Nov. 10, 1993.
