Catch the Mice

In our digital age, artists like Natalya Fadeyeva, who makes small toys from fabric and felt, don't often catch the attention of computer game enthusiasts. But the quest "Three Small White Mice: Visit of the Sea Rat" was fully designed by Fadeyeva and uses no computer graphics -- all characters and sets were made by hand.

The 3-D computer game for children aged from 4 to 8 years is based on Natalya Dubrovskaya's children's tale about three mice, Mrs. Morzel, Marta and little Nelson, who leave their house for a dangerous and exciting adventure to the sea shore.

For a short time, you can visit the magical world of the three small white mice, along with 20 other creatures in their forest homes at Na Solyanke Gallery, where the handmade sets and characters are being exhibited until April 1. Along with the interactive exhibition, there are master-classes in clay modeling, and competitions with prizes.

On the game's web site (www.nd.ru/mice/), you can check out screenshots from "Visit of the Sea Rat," read about the different characters, participate in online contests, download an animation clip, and take a visual tour of Mrs. Morzel's forest hut. The game is already for sale for 199 rubles through the web site of the Novy Disk company, which co-produced the project.

Creators are already working on a sequel, "Sea Rat's Birthday," and a longer role-playing game "Pirates of the North Sea" that will be intended for a wider age-group.
