Rosneft Offers Gazprom Asset Swap

Rosneft would like to swap its gas pipelines in the Far East for a share in a west Siberian oil field owned by Gazprom, Interfax quoted CEO Sergei Bogdanchikov as saying Tuesday.

Bogdanchikov said the firm would give Gazprom two gas pipelines from Sakhalin Island to the Khabarovsk region in return for a share in the South Priobskoye oil field in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district.

"If we are offered terms for swapping part of those assets for a share in other assets that interest us and Gazprom owns, of course we'll do it with pleasure," Bogdanchikov said.

"We're talking about assets that could give us some synergy, like Priobskoye or something similar," he added. But he said Rosneft had had no such offer from Gazprom. Gazprom Neft, which owns a license for South Priobskoye, declined to comment. North Priobskoye is run by Yuganskneftegaz.
