Brawl Holds Up Flight to Bangkok

A Transaero flight scheduled to take off from Moscow for Bangkok, Thailand, was delayed for several hours after a brawl broke out among three drunk passengers, RIA-Novosti reported Wednesday.

Flight attendants on the plane, which was parked on the tarmac at Domodedovo Airport, tried to break up the fight late Tuesday but were unsuccessful. They then contacted the police.

But after police restored some semblance of order, they were forced to call in backup when the wives of the men involved in the fight and other passengers tried to prevent the three men from being taken from the plane.

Eventually, the men were forced off the plane.

RIA-Novosti reported that the flight was delayed for three hours. Regions.ru reported the delay was 10 hours.

Transaero said they would sue the men involved in the incident for damages.

Tuesday's fight was hardly the first dust-up involving a Transaero flight. Since the beginning of the year, 16 people have either been removed or barred from Transaero planes.
