President Goes on Air on Thursday

President Vladimir Putin will participate in a televised call-in show Thursday, the Kremlin said Sunday.

Putin will answer questions during the video-link conference, which will be broadcast on state-run Channel One and Rossia television channels, as well as on radio stations Mayak and Radio Rossii, the presidential press service said.

The Kremlin web site for the event, www.president-line.ru, said questions could be asked by phone, SMS or e-mail ahead of the show, which is scheduled to begin at noon. A statement issued by the Kremlin press service Sunday afternoon said the site had already begun accepting questions.

This will be the sixth and, perhaps, last presidential call-in show, which Putin has held annually since 2001. Putin's second and constitutionally mandated last consecutive presidential term ends in March.
