Thursday's foiled terrorist plot in London's Heathrow Airport caused the delay or cancellation of several flights between Britain and Russia.

British Airways canceled flights 873 and 875 Thursday evening, which were scheduled to depart from Domodedova Airport south of Moscow. The airline's regional sales manager for Eastern Europe, Maria Shlyakhtova, said flights were scheduled to resume Friday.

A Transaero flight from London to Moscow took off from Gatwick Airport after being delayed for 1 1/2 hours, Interfax reported.

Azat Zaripov, head of aviation security for Aeroflot, said none of the airline's flights had been canceled or delayed, adding that an Aeroflot flight had left Heathrow at 4:30 p.m. Moscow time and was scheduled to arrive on time.

At the request of the U.S. Transport Security Administration, Aeroflot has banned all liquids and gels from carry-on luggage on its U.S.-bound flights, Interfax reported.
