Polish Aid for Belarussians

WARSAW -- Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz opened a scholarship program Wednesday aimed at helping Belarussian students kicked out of their home universities for opposition activities.

The Konstanty Kalinowski scholarships, named after a 19th-century Polish-Belarussian journalist and revolutionary, paves the way for 300 Belarussian students to continue their studies in Poland. (AP)
