Fradkov to Talk Energy in Norway

OSLO -- Norway and Russia, neighbors in the Arctic, will discuss ways to boost oil and gas cooperation during Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov's visit to Norway on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Norwegian oil and energy minister said Monday.

"There is a broad agenda for the visit, but with a particular focus on oil and gas cooperation in the North," Oil and Energy Minister Odd Roger Enoksen said in written remarks.

The talks during Fradkov's two-day visit will deal with energy issues of common interest and "concrete cooperation to develop the vast oil and gas resources in our northern waters," Enoksen said.

On Tuesday, Fradkov will tour a gas processing plant that Hydro is building for its Ormen Lange field, which is off western Norway, and which the company hopes will help pry open the door to developing Shtokman with Gazprom.
