Must-Haves – Not

These can be seen everywhere in Moscow, but do fashion insiders think you should be wearing them?

Pointy Shoes: For women, "pointy-tipped, wedges, these brutal forms, are fashionable -- not excessively elegant, but brutal shoes," said Anna Karabash, of Harper's Bazaar. Yekaterina Pavelko of Esquire magazine disagreed, however, saying both sexes should avoid pointy toes.

Fur: "Everybody's crazy about fur in Russia," said Pavelko. "If you're over 25, everyone reckons you must have it, but it's not fashionable. Because it's fashionable to be Greenpeace, and to save animals."

Leopard Prints: "I like leopard-print fur coats," said jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, "but I don't want to kill an endangered species. I'm not a fan of a lot of leopard -- I think minimal leopard, like leopard bag or leopard scarf. I think a little of it goes a long way."

Louis Vuitton Cases: "It's just not very educated taste," said Karabash. "On any flight to Russia, the men, without fail, will have Louis Vuitton cases, everything with the monogram. It's like an army of brand victims -- already not victims of fashion, but of a brand."
