Office Supplies

Most companies in Moscow buy their office supplies in bulk from catalogs, but the student or writer with a craving for giant paperclips or file dividers has a tougher time. There is, however, a small office supply section in the Politicheskaya Kniga shop not far from Pushkin Square that is packed with hard-to-find goods. In addition to staples like pens and pencils, folders, staplers, glue, notebooks, fax and printer paper, the shop carries such treasures as hanging files in both letter and legal size; lined (not graph or grid) paper and notebooks; every size and color of Post-its known to humankind; envelopes in a variety of sizes, both plain and bubble-pack; and even index cards in several sizes as well as file boxes to hold them with alphabetized or numbered dividers. For the truly organizationally obsessed, the shop has plastic sleeves for business cards to fit variously sized binders, and Cyrillic and Roman alphabetized notebook dividers. The store also carries desk sets, a variety of high-end pens and other office paraphernalia suitable for holiday business gifts.
