Dragons Play Host to Rugby Capitals' Cup

The Moscow Dragons will host several rugby teams from around Eastern Europe on Saturday in the Capitals' Cup, an annual event that rotates between participating clubs.

This year, the round-robin tournament will kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fili Stadium in western Moscow, where former British Lions legend Martin Bayfield will be on hand to present the winner's trophy.

Entrance for spectators is free.

The Moscow Dragons is a rugby club run by expats that welcomes both Russians and foreigners looking for a game -- and a fun time -- into its ranks.

Boasting around 100 playing and non-playing members of both sexes, the Dragons play throughout the year in winter and summer leagues in and around the capital.

For those wishing to get involved in playing regular rugby, a player's membership costs 3,000 rubles ($105) per year. Students get a 50 percent discount, and non-playing members pay 1,000 rubles ($35) per year.

The club currently trains every Thursday evening at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
