2 Caucasus Natives Killed and 3 Wounded

Two men from the Caucasus were killed and three others were wounded in three separate incidents overnight, Moscow authorities said Sunday.

Unidentified assailants attacked a native of Nalchik, the capital of the southern republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, near the Botanichesky Sad metro station in northeast Moscow at about 12:30 a.m., city prosecutors said, Interfax reported.

The attackers beat and stabbed the man, identified only as Khudainamov, and he died at the scene from knife wounds to his head, neck and back.

In southeast Moscow, Shamil Shikhshabekov, a native of Dagestan, was killed and two other Dagestanis were injured after a fight early Sunday, police told Interfax. Police arrived at the scene of the fight on Porechnaya Ulitsa, near the Marino metro station, shortly after midnight to find the three men with multiple stab wounds. Shikhshabekov, Kurban Mazhidov and Salman Mazhidov were rushed to City Hospital No. 68, where Shikhshabekov died. The details of the fight were unclear. Interfax said other participants fled in several cars.

In the third incident, five assailants stabbed a Tajik migrant worker just off 15 Ulitsa Shirokaya, near the Medvedkovo metro station in northern Moscow, on Saturday night, police told Interfax.

The unidentified man was hospitalized with numerous wounds on his back and hands. The attackers were believed to be young skinheads aged 18 to 20.
