Appointments

Renaissance Capital



Alexander Pertsovsky has been appointed managing director and head of the domestic distribution department at Renaissance Capital.

He will be responsible for the company's equity and fixed-income products' domestic distribution strategy and the activity of the domestic sales force.

Pertsovsky was one of the founders and CEO of Rinaco Plus, which was established in 1992. After the 1998 financial crisis, he orchestrated the merger of Rinaco with NIKoil. From 1998 to 2000 Pertsovsky served as managing director, responsible for brokerage operations, and a member of the board of directors.

Pertsovsky later received a master's of business administration degree from Columbia University in 2002.




Prosperity



Erik Wigertz has been appointed director of Prosperity Capital Management. He will be responsible for managing oil and gas investments.

Wigertz previously worked at Brunswick UBS Warburg, where he was director and partner responsible for oil and gas research.

He holds a degree in business administration and economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.




Metromedia



Rick Macy has been appointed regional director of Metromedia Cable TV for Russia.

He will be responsible for three Metromedia cable TV companies: KosmosTV in Moscow, Teleplus in St. Petersburg and the Arkhangelsk Television Co.

Macy has been with Metromedia for four years, having worked in PeterStar Telecommunications in St. Petersburg and Comstar Telecommunications in Moscow.




Ernst & Young



Glenn Klimchuk has been named a partner in Ernst & Young's business consulting practice in Moscow.

He will be responsible for the firm's consulting projects, concentrating on the oil and gas industry.

Klimchuk has 10 years of consulting experience and five years in the oil and gas sector. He started working at Ernst & Young in May after the firm combined its CIS offices with Andersen, having joined the Moscow office of Arthur Andersen in 2000.




Megafon



Igor Nikodimov has been appointed general director for foreign economic relations at cellular operator Megafon.

Nikodimov was an administrative director, deputy general director and general director at Severo-Zapad GSM from 1992 to 2002.

Dmitry Kononov has been appointed deputy general director responsible for financing and economics.

Kononov was a consultant on the board of Luxembourg-based First National Holding SA from 2000 to 2001. He held the post of financial director for the Megafon project from 2001 to 2002.

Eduard Ostrovsky has been appointed deputy general director of the national subsystem responsible for the confidentiality of mobile GSM communications.

Ostrovsky was deputy communications minister from January 2000 to April 2002.
