Modest MoscowOut Tells What's Going On Tonight

MoscowOut does not pretend to be unique, but it does do a good job at fulfilling its intended purpose -- providing a guide to nightlife and entertainment in the capital.

"There's more than a few Internet projects that claim to be your guide to this vast and crazy city," says the site. "We try to be one of the best -- you, of course, must be the judge."

MoscowOut, located at, is owned by E-Business East, a London-based company specializing in market research and Internet projects.

Available in both English and Russian, the site claims to have information on more than 3,000 clubs, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, galleries, museums, sport clubs, stadiums, beauty salons, parks and other venues. There is even a special section on pets and a few articles on the metro.

MoscowOut is for more than just information, the site says. "It's interesting reviews, practical advice and also opinions from various sources -- starting from popular publications to experts specializing in high culture and ending with the opinions of our visitors."

For example, after clicking on the Clubs subsection under Night Life and entering the name of a specific club, the site gives its address, some sample food and drink prices and a description and review of the venue.

At the bottom of the page, there is even more: a forum where clubgoers throw in their 2 cents about Moscow's hot spots, commenting on everything from face control to smelly toilets.

Perhaps the site's most attractive feature, MoscowOut, together with the Viarita tourism company, allows visitors to reserve a room in a selection of the capital's hotels, mostly four- or five-star establishments in the center. The reservation comes with a discount of 10 percent to 50 percent.
