Putin and Bush Chat

WASHINGTON -- Presidents Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush discussed by telephone Tuesday the situation in the Middle East and U.S.-Russian attempts to reduce nuclear weapons stockpiles, the White House said.

Sean McCormack, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, said the two leaders spoke for about 15 minutes.

He said the two leaders also expressed satisfaction at the signing of a protocol to resolve the chicken ban.
