Igor Rounov has been appointed head of the International Road Transport Union's permanent delegation to the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Rounov, 49, will be responsible for defending the interests of the international road transport of passengers and goods. He will also be in charge of directing and coordinating the lobbying activities of the IRU in the CIS.

He started his career in the Soviet Foreign Trade Ministry. Later he worked for the International Sugar Organization, as well as for the International Wheat Council in London, returning after four years to the Foreign Economic Relations Ministry. In the early 1990s, he became vice president of the U.S.-U.S.S.R. Trade and Economic Council. He spent two years in the United States as executive vice president of the Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

For the last six years, Rounov has been a vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia.


Michael de Wildt has been appointed executive chef in the Sheraton Palace Hotel Moscow.

De Wildt will be responsible for food preparation as well as creating and directing the menu planning. One of his objectives is to develop some new restaurant concepts.

De Wildt has worked in the restaurant and hospitality business at five-star establishments in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Britain. In 1997, de Wildt became executive sous-chef at the Renaissance Hotel Moscow, where he worked until November 1998. He then began work in Greece as executive chef at the Marriott Hotel in Athens. Then de Wildt became director of culinary operations at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel in Syria.

Sun Interbrew

Torsten Huebner was appointed central district vice president with Sun Interbrew.

Huebner will supervise operations in the Central, Central-Chernozemny and Volga-Vyatsky regions, including four distributing centers in Kursk, Ivanovo, Saransk and Nizhny Novgorod and three breweries in Kursk, Ivanovo and Saransk.

Huebner started working in Russia in 1994 as an ice cream project manager with Unilever. Between 1994 and 1998, he worked in Germany as key customer manager for ice cream and in China as regional sales manager.

After January 1999, he worked as sales and marketing director with Unilever in Ukraine.

Andreas Seemuller has been appointed Sun Interbrew's southern district vice president.

In his new position, Seemuller will oversee operations in the Volga and North Caucasus regions, including the Volzhsky beer plant and three distribution centers in Volzhsky, Samara and Rostov-on-Don.

Seemuller has been working in Russia since 1992. His first appointment was as international distribution manager at Wrigley's. Later, he worked as general manager with Duracell Russia and the CIS. His last position before joining Sun Interbrew was as Gillette Ukraine's general manager.
