Golfers Tee Off for Spot In the Sun

Moscow's amateur golfers have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid golfing trip to South Africa as the BMW Golf Cup International continues in Moscow.

Open to any golfer with a handicap, the tournament still has around 30 places left for Saturday's qualification round at the Moscow Golf and Country Club at Nakhabino.

The top 88 golfers in the qualification rounds will go through to the two-round final on the weekend of Sept. 15 to 16.

Three golfers will go to South Africa to represent Russia in the World Final: one for each category of men's 0-12 handicap, men's 13-36 handicap and the women's competition.

After the first qualification round of June 9, the standard is high with scores of 66, 72 and 64 top in the three categories.

The final in November will take place at the famous Fancourt course in South Africa — designed by Gary Player.

Anyone wishing to take part should telephone 926-5925 or fax their details and handicap to the Moscow Golf and Country Club at 564-8896.
