ING Barings

ING Barings has appointed Dmitry Kushayev head of its investment banking business in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Kushayev was formerly with DLJ/CSFB in Moscow, where he was also in charge of investment banking in Russia and the CIS.

Prior to joining DLJ in 1998, he was head of debt products with ING in Moscow and also worked for Ernst & Young in Moscow, where he was head of mergers and acquisitions.

Aton Capital

Aton Capital has announced the appointment of Peter Westin as senior economist and macroeconomic analyst.

Prior to joining Aton Capital, Westin worked as chief analyst at the Stockholm Institute for Transition Economics, where he was responsible for monitoring macroeconomic developments in Russia and the Baltic States.

In 1998-2000, Westin was the editor of the Russian Economic Trends journal, based in Moscow, and worked as an economic adviser to the Russian government.

Aton has also announced the recent appointments of Nicholas Betsky and Robert Lowe to the international sales division.

Betsky will be responsible for institutional client relationships within the equity sales group, while Lowe will establish Aton Capital's U.S. broker-dealer in New York.

Prior to joining Aton Capital, Betsky ran a private hedge fund in Montreal, Canada, for Ansbacher Bank of South Africa. Before running the fund, Betsky spent three years in trading and sales at Pioneers Securities in Moscow.

Lowe joins Aton Capital after working for more than three years as an institutional salesman with Troika Dialog in both their Moscow and New York offices. Prior to working at Troika, Lowe spent two years in Moscow as the financial director of Rosinter restaurant group.

Renaissance Moscow

Eric Therond has been appointed executive chef at the Renaissance Moscow Hotel.

Therond, who was born in 1969 in France, is a graduate of Montpellier's College la Colline and has been working in the restaurant business for more than 10 years.

Before joining the Renaissance Moscow Hotel as executive sous-chef in September 2000, he worked for various restaurants in France, Britain and the Caribbean, as well as for the Holland American Cruise Liners Co.

Ru-Net Holdings

Andrei Nadein has been appointed president and chief operating officer of, an Internet technologies incubator that is part of Ru-Net Holdings Ltd.

Nadein, 29, will be responsible for expanding's software developments for international clients.

Nadein graduated from the Karaganda Politechnical University with a master's degree in management. He has also held the post of COO with Actis Systems and previously headed the Actis Systems Asia company.
