Giuliani Mask No. 1 in N.Y.

NEW YORK -- The face of New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, which has been beamed all over the world since the Sept. 11 attacks, may see more exposure than ever before on Halloween.

The city's department of consumer affairs announced that masks of the mayor are the most popular Halloween items in New York this year, followed closely by firefighter, police officer and Harry Potter costumes.

Giuliani laughed out loud when he heard that his face was in such demand. As he has during the anthrax scare and other pressing concerns of the times, the mayor urged trick-or-treaters to enjoy Halloween but act responsibly and sensibly.

Paul Blum, owner of the Abracadabra Superstore, confirmed that "Giuliani is selling well, along with President George W. Bush.'' Both masks go for $24.

"But biohazard suits, that's the big one,'' Blum added. "It's selling like crazy.''

The biohazard suit -- $75 for adults, $36 for children -- is an orange jumpsuit, with helmet and visor.

Not moving as well, Blum said, are his $95 custom-made masks of Osama bin Laden.
