Slavneft Audited

  • The Audit Chamber has begun a planned probe into the country?s No. 9 oil major Slavneft, company officials said Tuesday.

The chamber will look into the use of federal property over the past 18 months by state-controlled Slavneft and its subsidiaries, as well as examine the reconstruction project for the Yaroslavnefteorgsintez refinery, or YaNOS, which is being financed from the state budget.

Slavneft vice president Andrei Shtorkh said in a press release that he has pledged his full assistance to the auditors.

Slavneft has been negotiating with Japan?s Exim Bank since 1996 to finance the $200 million YaNOS project
