Norilsk Stake Sold

  • The State Property Fund said Tuesday it had sold the last government shares in metals giant Norilsk Nickel, which amounted to a 0.25 percent stake in the company.

    A statement by the fund said the shares were sold at a special auction on Monday at 341.15 rubles ($12.25) per share for a total of 162.7 million rubles.

    The starting price for the whole stake was 109.7 million rubles, or 230 rubles per share, and 476,969 ordinary shares were sold.

    Norilsk Nickel is the world?s largest producer of nickel and palladium and second-largest producer of platinum. It is also Russia?s largest producer of copper and cobalt.
