Piracy Suspects Probed

A St. Petersburg online store has been shut down on suspicion of selling pirated software, news server reported Tuesday.

The shop, Logos CD-Trade, allegedly sold pirated copies of software written by Russian software developers such as Garant, IC, Parus and Galaktika for 40 rubles (about $1.45) to 250 rubles to buyers in Russia and abroad. They offered courier delivery in St. Petersburg and postal delivery in Russia and abroad, reported.

Three St. Petersburgers who organized the shop are under investigation by the city prosecutor for violation of intellectual property rights. CD-Trade Interior Ministry Economic Crime Division news server
