YEKATERINBURG, Ural Mountains -- The Kyshtym copper plant increased output of refined metal including copper cathode and foil by 53 percent in the first half of 2000 compared with the same period in 1999, a Kyshtym official said Wednesday.

Vladimir Karnaukhov, Kyshtym's deputy technical director, did not breakdown the output between cathode copper and foil.
