Fuel Duty Suspended

ALMATY, Kazakhstan -- Kazakhstan has suspended excise duties on imports of diesel and gasoline to ensure fuel supplies during the harvest season, a government resolution published on Monday said.

The excise rate stood at 31 euros ($29.45) per ton of gasoline and 20 euros per ton of diesel. The changes do not apply to aviation fuel. It was unclear if the measures would remain in force after the harvest.
