Duma Immunity Bill

MOSCOW -- The State Duma's committee on state-building approved a bill that would deprive Duma deputies of immunity from prosecution, Interfax reported.

Boris Nemtsov, leader of the Union of Right Forces faction, which sponsored the bill, was quoted by Interfax as saying it had a good chance of being passed by the Duma sometime in the fall.

Nemtsov said committee chairman Anatoly Lukyanov, a Communist, and deputies from the Unity Party supported the bill.
