Tajikistan Bombs

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- A bomb exploded Monday in a building used by Russian border troops and another bomb was found and defused, Tajik police said.

No one was hurt by the blast, which shattered windows on several floors of the building where Russian troops live, police said. Investigators found the second bomb on another floor, they said.

There was no immediate indication of who may have been behind the bombing, which was being treated as a terrorist act, police said.

Monday's explosion followed an incident Sunday when police found a time bomb planted on a multi-use bridge near the capital Dushanbe and defused it 15 minutes before it was set to explode.

A passenger train was to cross the bridge an hour after the bomb's preset detonation time, a police spokesman said.
