YEREVAN, Armenia -- The breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh voted for a new parliament Sunday and officials said polling in the Armenian-dominated province was going peacefully despite tensions earlier in the year.

The poll is unlikely to change the region's deadlock with Azerbaijan, from which it declared its independence and with which it has been in uneasy truce since a 1994 ceasefire.
