Guerrilla Attacks?

PARIS -- French police questioned three convicted Moslem guerrillas Monday about possible terrorist threats to the Euro 2000 soccer tournament after they made phone calls about the contest from their cells.

Judicial sources said the three used a portable telephone to discuss Euro 2000 with three people in the Netherlands in conversations that could have been coded to conceal plans for terrorist attacks.

The calls were monitored by Dutch police who detained the three people who received the calls, the sources said.

French anti-terrorist magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguiere opened an investigation.

Judicial sources said the three convicts were taken from Paris's La Sante prison to the headquarters of the DST counter-espionnage agency.
