Bakshy's Rising Star


After finding success as a composer of theatrical scores, Alexander Bakshy has released his first album titled "A Dying Hamlet." A release party at Dom Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. will celebrate the occasion. Also appearing at the event to promote their recent releases will be the talented Sergei Zagny ("Sonata") and Vladimir Matynov ("Hymns"). Dom Center is at 24 Bolshoi Ovchinnikovsky Pereulok, Bldg. 4. Memories of War


"Dedication" is a moving exhibition of World War II photojournalism timed to coincide with the 55th anniversary Victory Day celebrations, and is also a part of the Photobiennale-2000. Say Bye-Bye to 'Beauty'


It's your last chance to check out the multi-Oscar-winning "American Beauty," starring Annette Bening and Kevin Spacey. The film is a black comedy looking at the underside of suburban life, and marks an impressive debut for director Sam Mendes.
