Currency Reserves Up

MOSCOW -- The value of hard-currency reserves held by the Central Bank rose by $100 million to $17.6 billion from May 5 to May 12, the bank said Wednesday.

During the previous reporting period from April 28 to May 5, reserves had grown by $500 million.

The Central Bank's reserves include gold, foreign currency and Special Drawing Rights, an international reserve asset that is essentially a currency of the International Monetary Fund.
