The True Escape

Lester Burnham isn't the only one who's ever wanted to get away from it all - to leave his work, family and world behind. The three main characters of Andrei Tarkovsky's epic science-fiction film "Stalker" go just a step further by entering a large quarantined zone that is anything but hospitable. The plays at 7 p.m. in Hall 4 of the Cinema Museum, located at 15 Druzhinnikovskaya Ulitsa. Metro Krasnopresnenskaya. Tel. 255-9057.

When the Feud Continues

Audience members never know what happens after the curtain falls, particularly when a production's finale depicts the tragic suicide of star-crossed lovers. But in Grigory Gorin's latest work, his comic "sequel" to "Romeo and Juliet," we get a glimpse of what might have been in store for the Montegues and Capulets. "A Plague o' Both Your Houses" (Chuma na Oba Vashi Doma) begins at 7 p.m. at the Mayakovsky Theater, 19 Bolshaya Nikitskaya Ulitsa. Metro Arbatskaya. Tel. 290-4658.

An Ethnic-Acid Adventure

Finding life just a little repetitive? Staring at the same faces, saying the same things, listening to the same sounds? Come to Bunker tonight where St. Petersburg's Ole Lukoye will break the strain. Described as a group that "[very energetically] defies labels," this band will provide a unique blend of synthesized noise in an acid-rock extravaganza. The show starts at 11 p.m. at Bunker, 12 Tverskaya Ulitsa. Metro Tverskaya. Tel. 200-1506.
