Spring in the Garden

It's a wonderful time of year for a long stroll through the Botanical Gardens, one of Moscow's relatively well-maintained and expansive green areas. From the small pond close to the Vladykino entrance, wide paths branch off through a variety of wooded and open areas. There are plenty of benches for weary legs and a glorious array of flora, much of it flowering in the early spring. The gardens are a wonderful place to go cycling or skating. The Botanical Gardens of the Academy of Science are at 4 Botanicheskaya Ulitsa, and they are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Mondays. Tel. 482-1373. Metros Vladykino, Botanichesky Sad.
