Kyrgyz Hunger Strike

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan -- Kyrgyz police rounded up 15 opposition activists staging a hunger strike and drove them off to hospital on Tuesday, an opposition spokesman said.

The hunger strikers were protesting against the recent arrest of Felix Kulov, leader of the Ar-Namys party and widely seen as a potential challenger to President Askar Akayev in an election in the republic due later this year.
