Bomb Suspect Arrested

MOSCOW -- The Federal Security Service, or FSB, has arrested a suspect in last year's bombing of a food market in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, which killed 55 people.

The man, identified by Interfax as Gabid, 27, was arrested in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, the news agency said. An FSB officer in the Krasnodar region confirmed the arrest.

The March 19, 1999, explosion killed 55 people and wounded 200. After the blast, Russian law enforcement officials said they had reason to believe it was ordered by Chechen warlords.
