World Bank Pensive

MOSCOW -- The World Bank has not decided when it will disburse loans to Russia, senior bankers said Monday, in the face of high expectations in the government the money would be available soon.

Michael Carter, country director for Russia, said the bank had not reviewed new documentation from the government on actions taken to support disbursal of the next $100 million tranche of a so-called coal loan.

The loan is meant to cushion sector reform and to go straight to the budget.
