U.S. May Send Aid

MOSCOW -- The United States and Russia are likely to agree to terms on a small donation of food aid to Russia within days, but politics may be holding up negotiations on a larger package, a U.S. Embassy source said Wednesday.

An agreement on giving Russia 300,000 metric tons of wheat was expected imminently, he said.

The Russian government's press office said Wednesday a memorandum of understanding on supplying the 300,000 tons in March had already been approved.
