Ukraine Closes Reactor

KIEV -- A nuclear reactor at Ukraine's Rivne nuclear power plant was shut down for repairs after operators discovered it was leaking oil, nuclear officials said Monday.

The No. 3 reactor was halted Saturday after the leak was discovered. Repairs are to continue until March 20, the state nuclear Energoatom company said. No radiation leaks were reported.

Ten out of 14 nuclear reactors at Ukraine's five atomic power plants are working. They produce about 40 percent of the country's electricity.
