DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- Tajikistan held a parliamentary election runoff Sunday, marking a milestone on the Central Asian state's drawn-out road to peace.
A first-election round Feb. 27 had decided the outcome of 22 party list seats in the lower house of parliament, giving a clear endorsement to President Imomali Rakhmonov, whose People's Democratic Party won 15 of the seats.
The Islamic-led opposition won just two seats, while the Communist Party won five.
