Dzhanashia Absent

TBILISI, Georgia -- Georgia will be without top striker Zaza Dzhanashia in Wednesday's friendly against Israel as the player claims he is too ill to play.

Dzhanashia caused a stir with Georgian officials when he failed to accompany the national team to Israel, claiming he fell ill last week.

However, he played for Lokomotiv Moscow in Friday's Russian league opener against city rival CSKA, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory.

"We have to wait and see if he was really sick or just tried to mislead us before we'll take any disciplinary action," Georgian soccer chief Merab Zhordania said.
